In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, The National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA) has partnered with Recyclestack, a pan-African circular innovation company to digitize and formalize Nigeria’s circular economy.
This collaboration aims to transform waste management by leveraging Recyclestack’s AI-powered waste marketplace. Through this partnership, NESREA and Recyclstack will create a secure, accessible platform that connects Nigerians and recycling businesses to the global circular economy, accelerating digital transformation and sustainability.

NESREA's National Waste Marketplace Program shall also formalise the circular sector and support the growth of waste pickers, small, medium sized and big waste aggregators and Recyclers to enable them imbibe best practices and contribute to the overall economic development of Nigeria and Africa.
The National Waste Marketplace Program aims to streamline waste management, promote recycling, and drive sustainability.
The collaboration will strive to digitize, simplify, formalise, streamline, track and analyse waste transactions, both domestically and across borders. This process is supported by Recyclestack's waste online marketplace, www.recyclestack.ng aiming to make waste recycling faster, more affordable, and more accessible for Millions of Nigerians through their phones.
The National Waste Marketplace program will be facilitating traininig and certification programmes in waste management, sustainability and recycling for families, organisations, waste pickers, waste aggregators, waste managers and recycling businesses in Nigeria.
The program will also enable individuals, families, organisations, waste pickers and recyclers to collect and monetize their wastes through their smart phones and digital devices, thereby simplifying circular business.
A core objective of the collaboration is to explore ways to bolster Nigeria's circular entrepreneurial ecosystem through financial inclusion, access to finance and provision of life and health insurance policies for every player in the circular ecosystem.
The collaboration will explore the creation of an AI- enabled, intuitive and user-friendly National digital circular platform, built on secure and scalable global infrastructure and enhanced technologies. This will empower Nigerian recyclers and customers to easily integrate and connect to a unified system enabling them to scale and grow within the ecosystem.
For example, waste pickers, aggregators, PROs and last mile recyclers can easily collaborate for seamless transactions and establish a circular community on the National Waste Marketplace.
NESREA’s circular Innovation team will aim to provide on-going expert support to Recyclestack, ensuring the effective implementation of the National Waste Marketplace program and the successful realisation of the collaboration's transformative goals over the coming years.
